\nNancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen around 9:30 p.m. Saturday at her home in Catalina Foothills, a community north of Tucson, according to the Pima County Sheriff\u2019s Office, per the New York Post.Authorities later confirmed that Nancy Guthrie is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, who has served as a co-anchor of NBC\u2019s Today since 2012, according to ABC15 Arizona.<\/p>\n
The case is being treated as a large-scale search and rescue mission. Homicide detectives were also seen processing the elderly woman\u2019s home \u2014 a step officials said is not standard protocol in typical missing-person cases.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve pretty much thrown everything at this that we can,\u201d Nanos said, referring to the extensive resources and personnel involved in the search.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t need to tell you, this is very concerning to us; we don\u2019t typically get the sheriff out on a scene like this but it is very concerning,\u201d Nanos said.<\/p>\n
