The mother of Savannah Guthrie has been reported missing in Arizona under what authorities described as “concerning circumstances.”

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen around 9:30 p.m. Saturday at her home in Catalina Foothills, a community north of Tucson, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, per the New York Post.Authorities later confirmed that Nancy Guthrie is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, who has served as a co-anchor of NBC’s Today since 2012, according to ABC15 Arizona.
The case is being treated as a large-scale search and rescue mission. Homicide detectives were also seen processing the elderly woman’s home — a step officials said is not standard protocol in typical missing-person cases.
“We’ve pretty much thrown everything at this that we can,” Nanos said, referring to the extensive resources and personnel involved in the search.
“I don’t need to tell you, this is very concerning to us; we don’t typically get the sheriff out on a scene like this but it is very concerning,” Nanos said.
Savannah Guthrie has not publicly commented on her mother’s disappearance, according to the New York Post.
